Sugar Lace is an Edible Cake Lace with special fusion formulation ideal for piping using our Cake Deco Pen and spreading on our Cake Lace Mats for Cakes and Cupcakes Decoration

Sugar Lace White Mix is a special 2 Part formulation where the mix/powder can be prepared in to a paste within 5 minutes and can be use as it is or can be coloured . The paste can be piped using our Cake Deco Pen for hand-made designs or spread on to our Cake Lace Mat directly without any need for preparation.

Ideal for Confectionery and Baking Industry and suitable for Cakes and Cupcakes Decorations or Cake and Cupcake Craft.

If piped onto Acetate Sheet / Parchment Paper it can be only air dried (Oven drying is not suitable at all for Acetate Sheet )

(Under normal temperature for drying the Sugar Lace takes up to 6 – 8 hours in the mat and 2 – 4 hours on the Acetate Sheet / Parchment Paper)

 

Instructions for Sugar Lace White Mix

Welcome to Sugar Lace :

Sugar Lace is an Edible Cake Lace which will remain flexible and stretchable for many months making transporting your cakes very easy and comfortable.

 

Instruction to make 100 grams of Sugar Lace    (Part A Powder + Part B Liquid)

It will cover one large Lace mat but may cover more depending upon the complexity of the lace pattern.

Place 50ml of water into the bowl of your food mixer

Add 42grams (4 tablespoons) of Part A (Powder)             

Mix on high for 2 minutes

Add 2.5 ml (½ tablespoon) of Part B (Liquid)

Mix on high for 4-6 minutes until the Sugar Lace looks smooth

If piped onto Acetate Sheet / Parchment Paper it can be only air dried (Oven drying is not suitable at all for Acetate Sheet )

Or

Preheat your oven to 70 – 80 C

Spread some of the Sugar Lace paste onto your chosen mat using a spreading knife.

Work the mixture in all directions to ensure that there is an even coverage .Remove any excess with the spreading knife.

Place the mat into your pre heated oven for 15-20 minutes to dry the Sugar Lace

Remove from the oven and set aside for 5 minutes for the Sugar Lace to cool.

Check that the Edible Cake Lace is ready by peeling the edge of the Edible Cake Lace from the mat. It should be release easily .If it does not! Then the Edible Cake Lace is not yet dry so replace it in the oven for another 4 minutes and then test that it is dry again.

Place the dried Edible Cake Lace face down onto a clean surface and using the spreading knife release it from the mat .Edible Cake Lace can be air dried and will take between 6-8 hours depending how humid or dry the weather is !

To fix the Edible Cake Lace to your cake brush a little cooled boiled water straight onto your sugar paste-covered cake and then press the Edible Cake gently onto the Cake.

If you are not ready to use the Edible Cake Lace, dust with the corn flour and wrap in grease proof paper until you are ready to use it.

Please be advised that we can only give you a guide to cooking times as all ovens vary in temperature control. We advise you to use an independent temperature gauge.

We have also provide some extra Part B Liquid because as you become familiar with the Edible Cake Lace you may want to achieve a softer Lace

Any Edible Cake Lace mixture that is left can be stored in an airtight container and placed in the refrigerator for up to 7 days.

Suitable for Edible Cake Decorations and Cupcake Toppers.

 

Sugar Lace Premix is a special formulation where the paste can be piped using our Cake Deco Pen for hand-made designs or spread on to our Cake Lace Mat directly without any need for preparation.

The mixture is a soft paste which can be piped using our Cake Deco Pen or spread onto our pattern Cake Lace Mats and let it dry.

Drying can be done at the normal temperature or using the oven for faster curing.
Once dried the Edible Sugar Lace can be peeled from the Acetate Sheet or Cake Lace Mat and can be used to decorate the cakes giving it a stylish and creative look. 
The Edible Sugar Lace is soft, flexible and pliable.
